2007 – Prince Edward Island

It’s all about balance for Barbara, a lifelong PEI resident and dedicated family doctor who is known as an ‘expert juggler’ to meet the needs of her patients and community with those of her family and friends.

Barbara initially set up practice at the Charlottetown Clinic. Now at the PEI Poly Clinic, she also pursues emergency medicine and obstetrics. Barbara is on staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and has served as Head of Family Practice. Her patients praise her for her endless compassion and understanding.

She was Executive Treasurer of the Prince Edward Island College of Family Physicians for over 20 years. In addition, Barbara participated on the Board of the PEI School of Nursing and volunteers her time with Anderson House, a women’s shelter, the local ballet school and swim team.

Barbara and her husband John enjoy travelling and sailing. They have two children, Amy and Michael. Barbara relaxes by playing bridge, cooking and taking courses at the local university.
