2007 – New Brunswick

A native of Saint John, Chris has a family practice there and a special interest in palliative care. His leadership has extended to being Medical Director of the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital, and involved in the Hospice Palliative Care Outreach Program. Chris provides homecare for patients and is described by his associates as possessing “a bit of humor to support the team and lighten the challenges.” In 2002, Chris received the Excellence in Teamwork Award from the Interdisciplinary Palliative Care Team, and, in 2003, he received the New Brunswick Hospice Palliative Care Association’s Person of the Year Award.

Chris is a Clinical Lecturer at Dalhousie University. Committed to lifelong learning, he is an organizing force behind Palliative and End-of-Life continuing medical education.

Chris and his wife, Susan, have two children: Jill and Adam. The other family member is Kelty, Chris’s 8-year old Labrador Retriever. Chris enjoys gardening, skiing, fishing and walks with Kelty
